Bay Terrace To Host Winter Festival With Free Food, Art Show

May 31, 2023

BAYSIDE, QUEENS — Bayside nonprofits are joining forces this month to host the first winter festival at Bay Terrace Shopping Center.

The winter festival was organized by the owner of the shopping mall, Cord Meyer Development, and will take place on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. between SoBol and Rosa's Pizza.

"It's a dream that took root during the pandemic, when we hosted outdoor activities to draw foot traffic to our tenants," said Cord Meyer Vice President Controller, Joe Forgione. "Since then, the classic car shows and festivals have benefited not-for-profits and become annual traditions enjoyed by everyone from children to seniors."

A Girl Scouts troop, the Bayside Little League, and Dancing Dreams, a group that serves children with disabilities, will be among the cohorts manding tables at the event with activities for festivalgoers.

Free food, including hot chocolate and cookies, will be provided at the festival. Attendees can also view the Bayside Historical Society's Winter Art Show, showcasing works by Queens artists.
